Join us LIVE at this upcoming workshop to find out how to date like a secure person (even if you’re not). There is a way through: we’ll show the ‘how’.

LIVE WORKSHOP
AN INTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION X ADDICTION
75 MINUTE LIVE VIRTUAL GROUP EXPERIENCE
The techniques and strategies covered in Meditation x Addiction™ are specifically designed to support healing for people dealing with addiction and addiction-related issues. As evidenced by George Haas's own personal path, mindfulness meditation-based skills training can offer a truly effective behavioral change in the realm of addiction. In this live workshop, you’ll learn about our approach, which combines traditional meditation approaches, the relapse pattern theories from the work of G. Alan Marlatt, Phd., and John Bowlby’s Attachment Theory. You’ll learn about the path that helps our students with stabilizing in their recovery to continue to deepen their practice and maintain healthy lifestyle choices.

Fundamentals of Attachment Theory and the 3 Pillar Approach
In this live 4-part virtual group program, you’ll learn the fundamentals of our approach to a meaningful life. This includes instruction in Buddhist theory, an introduction to Attachment Theory, and in-depth meditation techniques, all designed to help you get your needs met, pursue your authentic passions, and emotionally regulate along the way.
The Level One program is an overview of attachment theory, examining the attachment mechanism, the exploration mechanism and the collaborative relationship systems that are necessary for secure functioning. We set the groundwork for deeper work at level two and beyond.
-
Mentalizing and collaborative relationships
After completing Level One, we invite you to go deeper in this 6 month container. You’ll learn about secure, insecure and disorganized functioning so that you can be fully equipped to skillfully navigate relationships and self-manage with awareness. You’ll also learn the different paths of repair, depending on attachment conditioning.
In level two, you also receive 1.1 meditation mentoring or IPF sessions. Our Metta-Vipassana meditation approach, designed to support attachment repair, is only available through Mettagroup.

1.1 Ideal Parent Figure Protocol
Developed by Dr. Daniel P. Brown, PhD, the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol (IPF) is a unique approach to attachment repair that combines the most cutting edge psychology with ancient meditation techniques. Mettagroup founder George Haas trained directly with the late Dr. Brown, and over the past few years many of the underlying concepts have been incorporated into Mettagroup’s teachings. Although spots are limited, George does offer one-on-one IPF facilitation sessions. Get in touch to inquire about availability, or book an introductory session via the link below.
The Level One program is an overview of attachment theory, examining the attachment mechanism, the exploration mechanism and the collaborative relationship systems that are necessary for secure functioning. We set the groundwork for deeper work at level two and beyond.

Find out your attachment strategy
Created by Dr. Mary Main, Adult Attachment Interviews are scored assessments that take a snapshot of your current attachment representation. Because different attachment strategies require different responses, it's important to know your attachment presentation. Anybody who is interested in attachment repair needs an assessment of their strategy.

For Professionals
Open Ongoing Group Supervision for IPF Practitioners
Enhance Your Tool Kit As a Practitioner in a Supportive Community
Developed with Dr. Daniel P. Brown, PhD, Mettagroup continues to offer a monthly masterclass work group based on his definitive work, Attachment Disturbances in Adults: Treatment for Comprehensive Repair.
Described by Psychology Today as a "major breakthrough in treatment," the journal also said: "It should be required reading by every mental health clinician and provider as a basis of treatment. If it were, there would be more positive treatment results for a wide variety of mental health issues."
Developed to assess and address attachment disturbances in a totally unique and effective way, we offer these IPF trainings and professional development space for professionals including licensed therapists, psychiatrists and meditation teachers/mentors who want to incorporate this approach into their own work with students or clients. This marks a major development in George Haas's own lifelong work connecting secular Buddhist meditation and modern attachment theory.
Meditation x Attachment Masterclass is for you if…
You are a client-centered mental health or meditation professional and are integrating IPF into your tool-kit.
This training is by invite only for professionals including licensed therapists, psychiatrists and meditation teachers/mentors who want to incorporate this approach into their own work with students/clients. Note that you will learn how to administer IPF in this training. Whether you’re already a seasoned IPF facilitator or want to learn how to facilitate IPF, this is for you.
You’ve done the work first-hand.
You’re engaged in or have completed your own IPF.
You’re familiar and active with the approach.

“I'm better than I've ever been.”
“I just want to share, that it's been six years, a big journey, a big journey. But guess what? I've earned secure. Today I found out that I've earned secure. I know a lot of you won't know what that means, but some of you might. I got my attachment assessment inventory back today and I'm secure. I'm better than I've ever been.”

“Working through the Ideal Parent Figure Protocol with George Haas earned me attachment security and changed my life. The effect has been both subtle and profound. Things are just easier having Ideal Parent Figures at my back - I like myself more, I'm not so afraid to make mistakes, the world seems interesting instead of daunting. I can't say enough good things about George as a IPF facilitator and as a human being. He has walked this walk and offers his guidance out of integrity and love.”
